Important

This information is for general guidance only. Meeting the requirements does not guarantee your application will be approved.

For most nationalities and most purposes, an Algerian entry visa is obtained before travel from the Algerian diplomatic or consular post covering the applicant's usual place of residence. Application forms are downloaded from the relevant embassy or consulate website and must be completed in duplicate.

Each application is submitted with a common set of documents plus the additional papers required for the specific visa type (tourist, business, study, work, family, medical, cultural or transit). A limited electronic visa and visa-on-arrival scheme also operates for certain tourists travelling to Algeria's southern Sahara regions through approved travel agencies, applied for via the Ministry of Interior portal.
