Using the Official Portal & Avoiding Fake Uganda Visa Websites
Uganda has one official e-visa portal; the DCIC warns that fraudulent look-alike sites target travellers.
Important
Uganda operates a single official channel for visas, permits and residence applications: the DCIC e-Immigration System at visas.immigration.go.ug. The Directorate has publicly warned that fake websites fraudulently claim to be the Uganda e-visa portal and can overcharge applicants or steal their data.
Before starting an application or entering any personal or payment information, check that the web address is exactly visas.immigration.go.ug and that it is reached from the official DCIC site (immigration.go.ug). Third-party agencies may offer to apply on your behalf, but the underlying application is always processed through this one government system.
If a site charges unusual fees, pressures you to pay quickly, or uses a slightly different address, treat it as suspect and go directly to the official portal instead.

- Check the exact web address before entering personal or payment details
- Be cautious of look-alike domains and unexpected extra charges
- Remember the official visa/permit fees are set by the DCIC
