Once an application is submitted through the e-Immigration System, it is reviewed by an Immigration Officer. Visitor visas are typically processed within a few business days, though the exact time depends on the completeness of the application and the volume being handled.
Entry permits and residence applications generally take longer than visitor visas because they involve additional verification of employment, investment, qualifications or residence history. Apply well ahead of your intended travel or start date, and make sure every required document is uploaded to avoid delays.
Because the DCIC does not publish a single guaranteed turnaround for every category, treat any specific number of days as indicative and confirm the current position on the official portal.
