Who it is for

  • Long-term foreign residents seeking Togolese nationality
  • Applicants aged at least 21 who can prove five years of habitual residence

Requirements

  • Birth certificate
  • Residence card/certificate covering the five-year period
  • Medical certificate proving sound physical and mental health
  • Proof of renunciation of the original nationality
  • Criminal-record clearances from Togo and the country of origin
  • Good moral character and the centre of one's main interests in Togo
  • Evidence of assimilation, including sufficient knowledge of a Togolese language

How to apply

  • Submit the application to the Minister of Justice via the Lomé court with a 1,000 XOF fiscal stamp
  • Provide the full documentary file; the process is currently handled in person (not yet digitised)
