Who it is for

  • Foreign nationals (from countries that require a visa) visiting for tourism or a holiday
  • Those attending meetings or short non-work visits
  • People visiting friends or relatives in Tanzania
  • Not for nationals of the United States travelling for tourism, who use the Multiple Entry Visa

Requirements

  • Passport valid for at least six months with blank pages
  • Passport-style photograph
  • Return or onward travel details and proof of accommodation
  • Completed online e-Visa application and paid fee

What you can do

  • Enter Tanzania once for tourism or a short permitted visit
  • Remain for the period granted on entry
  • You may not take up employment on this visa

How to apply

  • Go to the official e-Visa portal at visa.immigration.go.tz and start a new application
  • Complete the form, upload your photo and passport bio-data page
  • Pay the visa fee online
  • Wait for processing (generally within about 10 working days) and travel with your approved e-Visa
