The eVisa/eTAS is processed online before travel; work and residence permits are processed after in-person submission.

The eVisa/eTAS is applied for and processed online ahead of travel and must be held before boarding, since it cannot be issued on arrival. Work permits and permits of stay are submitted in person and involve additional ministry checks, so applicants should allow extra time.

The Immigration and Citizenship Agency does not publish a single standard processing time on its visa pages; confirm current timescales with the ICA or the relevant ministry when you apply.
