Requirements

  • You are a national of a country on Serbia's visa-exempt list, or you hold a valid Schengen, UK, EU Member State or US visa, or a residence permit issued in the Schengen area, the EU or the United States
  • Your travel document is valid for at least 90 days beyond your intended departure date from Serbia, has at least two consecutive blank pages, and was issued within the last 10 years
  • Your total stay does not exceed 90 days within any six-month period
  • You do not intend to work or register a stay on the basis of employment — a Schengen visa cannot be used to enter Serbia to register employment; that requires a Type D visa from a Serbian diplomatic-consular mission

How to apply

There is no application. If you are visa-exempt or hold a qualifying foreign visa or residence permit, you present your passport (and, where relevant, the qualifying foreign visa or permit) to the border authorities on arrival. Check your exact status on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs visa-regime page before travelling, and apply for a Type D visa in advance if you plan to work, study long-term or stay beyond 90 days.

Frequently asked questions

  • No. Visa-free entry covers short visits only. You cannot work or register a stay on the basis of employment; a valid Schengen visa also cannot be used for that purpose. To work you need a Type D visa and temporary residence and work (single permit).
