Who is eligible to enter or stay in Serbia

Eligibility turns on nationality, purpose of stay and, for longer stays, meeting the conditions of a named residence ground.

Official guidance Regularly updated

Important

This information is for general guidance only. Meeting the requirements does not guarantee your application will be approved.

For short stays, many nationalities are visa-free, and holders of a valid Schengen, UK, EU Member State or US visa (or a residence permit in those areas) may enter, transit and stay for up to 90 days within a six-month period regardless of their nationality.

For longer stays, you must qualify under a specific ground for temporary residence recognised by the Law on Foreigners, such as employment, study, family reunification, investor, start-up, talent, Serbian origin, property ownership or independent stay. Each ground has its own documentary conditions.
