Requirements

  • Evidence of the business (e.g. company/trade register entry, appointment as statutory body)
  • Proof of financial means to run the business (subsistence-minimum-based threshold)
  • Proof of personal funds to cover your own stay
  • Business plan / documentation of the intended activity where required
  • Valid passport and application form
  • Criminal record certificate
  • Proof of accommodation and health insurance

How to apply

Since 1 July 2025, first-time applications are lodged at a Slovak embassy/consulate abroad. You submit proof of the business, financial means, accommodation, criminal record certificate and insurance.

At renewal (filed in person at the Foreign Police before expiry) you must show real business activity, an actual verifiable address, residence for at least half of the previous year, and the required net profit for the prior tax year.
