Malta's national visa and single-permit fees are set in law; the single-permit amounts are published, while some visa figures should be confirmed against the official schedule.

Fees for Malta's national routes are charged under Maltese law — the Central Visa Unit applies the Fee Ordinance (L.N. 287 of 2020), and the single permit carries its own statutory fee. All fees are non-refundable regardless of the outcome of the application.

Single permit (work + residence)
- First-time single permit application: €600
- Renewal: €150 per year
- Non-refundable even if the application is refused
National long-stay (Type D) visa
The national visa fee is charged under the Fee Ordinance L.N. 287 of 2020, payable by credit card or cheque to the Central Visa Unit. Identità's premium-visa process (for applicants in countries with no Maltese mission) lists a €300 fee, and children under six are exempt; separate Visa Application Centre service charges may also apply where a VAC is used.
