Luxembourg Visa Application Centres (2026)

Find out how to apply at Luxembourg Visa Application Centres (2026) for a smooth application process and appointment booking.

Information only

Immigration rules, fees and processing times change. This article is general guidance, not legal advice. Always check the latest requirements on the official Luxembourg government website before you apply.

To submit a Luxembourg visa application, you must apply through the Luxembourg consulate, diplomatic mission, or authorised visa application centre responsible for your place of legal residence. You may also need to provide biometric data, unless your fingerprints can be reused under the Schengen rules. Visa application centres may receive applications, collect biometrics and forward files to the competent Luxembourg consular authority. The final decision is made by the competent Luxembourg or representing Schengen authority, not by the visa application centre.

Where to Apply for a Luxembourg Visa

Luxembourg visa applications are generally lodged through the Luxembourg consulate, diplomatic mission, or authorised visa application centre responsible for the applicant’s place of legal residence. In some countries, another Schengen state may represent Luxembourg for visa applications.

Applicants outside Luxembourg should apply at the consulate, diplomatic mission, or visa application centre responsible for their place of legal residence.

Booking an Appointment

Before visiting a VAC, you must book an appointment online. Walk-ins are not usually accepted.

You should lodge a Schengen visa application no later than 15 calendar days before the intended visit and no earlier than 6 months before travel. Appointment availability can vary, so apply as early as possible within the permitted timeframe.

  • Visit the website of the Luxembourg consulate, diplomatic mission, representing Schengen state, or authorised visa application centre responsible for your place of legal residence.
  • Complete the required visa application form and follow the application instructions for the authority or visa application centre handling your application.
  • Select the Visa Application Centre or consular appointment option responsible for your application, where online booking is available, and choose an available appointment slot.
  • Print your appointment confirmation to present on the day of your visit.

Documents to Bring to the Application Centre

Applicants must bring:

Refer to the Documents Checklist (2026) for a full list.

  • A valid travel document issued within the last 10 years, containing at least two blank pages, and valid for at least three months after your intended departure from the Schengen Area.
  • Completed visa application form.
  • Recent passport-sized photographs.
  • Proof of accommodation and travel itinerary.
  • Proof of financial means.
  • Visa fee payment confirmation or proof of online payment.

Biometric Enrolment at the Centre

During your appointment, biometric data, including fingerprints and a photograph, may be collected. Fingerprints are generally required for Schengen visa applicants, but may be reused if they were collected for a previous Schengen visa application within the applicable period and the rules allow it. See: Biometric Enrolment Process (2026).
