Saint Lucia is a member of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), and the Saint Lucia passport is a CARICOM passport. Nationals of CARICOM member states are shown as visa-exempt on the Department of External Affairs list and generally benefit from free-movement arrangements that allow longer stays than ordinary visitors.

CARICOM free movement also affects employment: when assessing work permit applications, the authorities consider whether a qualified Saint Lucian or CARICOM national is available for the role.
