Whether you need a visa for Peru depends on your nationality and the purpose and length of your stay: citizens of many countries in the Americas, Europe and elsewhere can enter visa-free as tourists, while paid work, study, family reunification, investment and long-term residence require a specific immigration status ("calidad migratoria"). Short stays for tourism and business are handled through Peruvian consulates abroad, while resident categories are granted by the Superintendencia Nacional de Migraciones (Migraciones).
