For most visitors there is no advance processing time: the visitor visa is issued on arrival once the Palau Entry Form QR code has been generated and the Palau Pledge signed. The online entry form must be submitted no more than 72 hours before departure.

Purpose-specific applications take longer. Foreign-investment applications, for example, are reviewed by the Foreign Investment Board within a defined statutory window, and work permits are processed jointly by the Bureau of Immigration and the Bureau of Labor.

Indicative timing

  • Visitor visa: issued on arrival
  • Palau Entry Form: submit within 72 hours of departure
  • Foreign Investment Approval Certificate: the Board has up to 90 days to review
