Who Can Enter Palau and Visa Eligibility

How eligibility depends on nationality — visa-free entry, visa on arrival, or a visa required in advance.

Important

This information is for general guidance only. Meeting the requirements does not guarantee your application will be approved.

Palau's visa policy is nationality-based. Citizens of the United States, the Federated States of Micronesia and the Republic of the Marshall Islands may enter without a visa, and several other nationalities enjoy visa-free stays of varying lengths.

Citizens of almost all other countries may obtain a visitor visa on arrival. Only a small number of nationalities are required to obtain a visa before travelling. Eligibility for work, study, residence and investor visas depends on meeting the specific requirements of each route rather than on nationality alone.

Nationality categories

  • Visa-free: United States, FSM and RMI citizens (long stays), plus other listed nationalities for shorter periods
  • Visa on arrival: citizens of most countries
  • Visa required in advance: a limited number of nationalities
