Pakistan's visa system has moved substantially online through the Pakistan Online Visa System, operated by NADRA under the policy of the Directorate General of Immigration & Passports. Most tourist and business travellers apply electronically from their home country, receive an authorisation, and have the visa completed on arrival.
Alongside the e-Visa, Pakistan operates visa on arrival for nationals of eligible countries and group-tourism arrangements through designated tour operators. The system is also being extended with an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) element. This digital-first approach is the distinctive feature of Pakistan's current visa regime, so the NADRA portal is the primary reference point for any application.
