How to Apply for a Niger Visa
The two ways to obtain a Niger visa — at a Nigerien embassy or consulate, or online through the official DST e-visa portal — and what each involves.
Important
Most travellers to Niger need a visa in their passport before arrival. The standard route is to apply at the Nigerien embassy or consulate responsible for your country of residence, submitting your passport, a completed application form and the required supporting items. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs indicates a decision typically takes around 15 days.
Niger's Ministry of Interior and Decentralisation, through the Direction de la Surveillance du Territoire (DST), also runs an online e-visa portal where eligible travellers can apply and pay before travel. A visa on arrival is only available exceptionally and generally requires prior authorisation, mainly for people leaving a country where Niger has no mission.
