Important

Whether you need a visa for Niger depends on your nationality, the purpose of your trip and how long you intend to stay. The general rule is that all foreign nationals must present a passport bearing a Niger visa unless they are exempt under a regional or bilateral agreement.

West-African regional nationals have historically entered visa-free with a valid travel document, and a few other nationalities hold bilateral exemptions. Air travellers who remain within the airport during a stopover do not need a visa. Because Niger's regional membership has recently changed, always confirm your status before travelling.
