How to apply
- The Nauruan/Nauruan-owned business sponsor completes the Local Business (Employment) Visa form (Form 3)
- Attach the required supporting documents and fee
- Submit to the Immigration Division for the Director's decision
Requirements
- The sponsoring employer must be a Nauruan citizen or a business that is wholly (100%) owned by Nauruan citizens
- A statutory declaration (under the Oaths, Affirmations and Statutory Declarations Act 1976, witnessed before a Commissioner for Oaths) that the employer's business is wholly Nauruan-owned — the penalty for a false declaration is AUD 10,000 or 5 years' imprisonment
- The employer must hold a current business licence under the Business Licences Act 2017
- An employment contract, or an offer and acceptance letter, executed by both the employer and the applicant
- A passport that will not expire within 3 months of the application date, and payment of the non-refundable fee
Documents you may need
- Certified copies of the identity pages of the applicant's passport (and of any accompanying spouse's and children's passports)
- One recent passport-sized photograph (45mm x 35mm) per person, with the person's name printed on the back
- A police certificate covering the previous 12 months' residence
- A statutory declaration that the employer's business is wholly owned by Nauruan citizens
- A certificate from the Registrar of Business Names, Corporations or Partnerships evidencing Nauruan ownership of the business
- A copy of the employer's current business licence under the Business Licences Act 2017
- The employment contract or offer-and-acceptance letter executed by employer and applicant
- A letter from the employer outlining the reason(s) for employing a foreign national (Regulation 8(5)(e))
- A receipt evidencing payment of the fee
