Who needs a Nauru visa and eligibility basics

Because Nauru has no visa-waiver agreements, virtually all foreign nationals need a visa; the correct class depends on the purpose of the visit.

Important

This information is for general guidance only. Meeting the requirements does not guarantee your application will be approved.

Nauru does not have visa-waiver arrangements with any country and does not issue visas on arrival, so nearly all foreign nationals need a visa obtained in advance.

Eligibility depends on the purpose of travel and the matching visa class — visitor, business (with subclasses such as education, media and research), local business employment, dependant, residence, special purpose and protection-linked classes. Each class has its own conditions decided by the Director of Immigration.
