Requirements
- You must be a dependant of the holder of a residence visa, business visa or employment visa — a spouse (not formally separated), a child under 18, or a person wholly dependent on the holder for financial, psychological or physical support
- A passport that will not expire within 3 months of the date of application
- A police certificate and a certificate of medical fitness (see Documents)
- Payment of the AUD 1,000 fee (non-refundable)
Documents you may need
- Certified copies of the identity pages of your passport or travel document
- One recent passport-sized photograph (45mm x 35mm) with your name printed on the back
- A police certificate covering the previous 12 months' residence
- A certificate of medical fitness (including a chest x-ray and blood tests)
- A receipt evidencing payment of the fee
- Certified English translations of any documents not in English
Frequently asked questions
No. A dependant who wishes to conduct a business or a profession must instead apply for the relevant Business or Employment visa; the Dependant's Visa does not permit those activities.
