Namibian Visa Processing Times

What to expect on timing for visitor visas and longer-term permits, and where to check official guidance.

Official guidance Regularly updated

Important

This information is for general guidance only. Meeting the requirements does not guarantee your application will be approved.

Processing times differ significantly between routes. Visitor eVisas are generally processed within a number of working days, so travellers are advised to apply well before departure rather than at the last minute. The online visa on arrival is designed to be faster at the point of entry for eligible travellers.

Longer-term permits, such as employment, study, business, family and residence permits, take considerably longer because they are adjudicated in Namibia and involve more documentation and, in some cases, review by a selection board. Applicants should plan for several weeks or months.

MHAISS publishes official visa and permit processing-time information; check it for the current expected timeframe for your specific application.
