How to Apply for a Mauritania e-Visa
A step-by-step overview of applying for Mauritania's electronic visa through the official ANRPTS portal before you travel.
Important
Since 5 January 2025 Mauritania issues visas electronically through the National Agency for the Population Register and Secure Titles (ANRPTS). Most travellers who need a visa must apply online before boarding their flight or reaching the border — visa-on-arrival and embassy sticker visas are no longer issued.
You apply at the official portal, complete the request form with your personal and travel details, upload the required documents and submit. After review — reported to take a few business days — you print the approved e-Visa. The visa fee is paid in cash on arrival and biometric data is captured at the border.
Application steps
- Open the ANRPTS visa request page at anrpts.gov.mr
- Complete the form with personal, passport and travel details
- Upload supporting documents and submit the application
- Wait for review and approval, then print the e-Visa
- Pay the fee and provide biometrics on arrival
