The common documents General Security requires for visa and residence applications.
Important
For most visa applications General Security asks for a completed application form, a valid passport (it cites a minimum validity of six months), a recent passport photograph, proof of financial means, and proof of accommodation such as a hotel booking or residence address. A return or onward travel ticket is required for some categories.
Category-specific documents apply: an enrolment attestation for students; a marriage, birth or family civil-register document for family/courtesy applications; an employment contract and employer registration for work permits; and an investment certificate or cash-guarantee evidence plus a lease or title deed for permanent residence.
Documents are generally accepted in Arabic, French or English, and General Security may request additional papers before deciding.
