General Security does not publish fixed processing times in its English-language visa guidance. Visa-on-arrival stamps are issued at the border for eligible nationalities, while prior-authorisation and embassy-issued visas take longer because they require review by General Security or a Lebanese mission.

Residence permits are applied for after arrival at a regional General Security bureau, and timing depends on the category and completeness of the file. Because General Security may request further documents, applicants should allow ample time and confirm current expectations directly with the relevant office.
