Who is eligible to enter Lebanon
How eligibility depends on nationality and purpose, including the visa-on-arrival, prior-authorisation and special-condition groups.
Important
Eligibility for entry is driven by nationality. GCC nationals and Jordanians are stamped in for extended tourist stays; a large group of countries (including the US, UK, Canada, EU states, Australia and Japan) receive a free one-month visa on arrival, extendable to three months; and some nationalities such as Turkish citizens receive a multiple-entry cost-free visa.
Other groups face additional requirements. Nationals of several labour-supplying countries need prior authorisation from General Security, and certain female travellers in defined age ranges from some regions must provide extra supporting documents. Nationals of unlisted countries must obtain a visa from a Lebanese embassy or prior authorisation from General Security.
Regardless of nationality, entry is refused to travellers whose passports show Israeli stamps or evidence of travel to Israel.
