Requirements

  • A passport with at least six months' validity from arrival and blank pages for stamping
  • Your sole purpose must be to travel through India to a destination in another country
  • Confirmed onward travel documentation (for example an onward ticket) showing you are transiting, not visiting
  • Transit is for direct transit only and stay is strictly limited per entry

  • Check on the official portal (indianvisaonline.gov.in) or with the Indian mission whether transit is available as an e-Visa or only as a regular sticker visa for your nationality
  • Complete the online application form
  • Provide proof of onward travel out of India
  • Pay the applicable fee
  • Carry your visa or ETA and onward travel evidence for immigration on arrival
