Requirements

  • A passport with at least six months' validity from your date of arrival in India and at least two blank pages for stamping

  • Travel purpose limited to tourism, sightseeing, casual visits to meet friends or relatives, or a short-term recreational programme
  • The e-Tourist Visa is non-extendable, non-convertible and does not permit work, study or journalistic activities

How to apply

  • Apply online through the official Indian e-Visa portal at indianvisaonline.gov.in - you can apply up to 120 days before your intended arrival
  • Complete the application form and choose your validity option (30-day, 1-year or 5-year)
  • Upload a recent passport-style photograph and a scan of your passport bio page
  • Pay the e-Visa fee online
  • Receive your Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) by email and carry a printout with you
  • Enter India through one of the designated e-Visa airports or seaports
