This information is for general guidance only. Meeting the requirements does not guarantee your application will be approved.

How you apply for a Guyana visa depends on your nationality and purpose. Business, employment and student visas are applied for online through the Immigration Support Services (ISS) eServices portal at eservices.iss.gov.gy, launched by the Ministry of Home Affairs in 2025 to digitise immigration services. Visitor visas can also be applied for online or at a Guyana embassy or consulate.

Travellers from visa-required countries who cannot reach a Guyana mission may instead obtain a visa on arrival, but only after securing an approval letter from the Ministry of Home Affairs before travelling. Employment applications additionally require the sponsoring employer to register as a sponsor on the portal before the worker applies.

Once submitted, online applications generate a reference number so applicants can track the outcome. Documents must be uploaded in PDF, JPEG, JPG or PNG format, with certified English translations for anything not in English.
