Who needs a visa for Guyana
Whether you need a Guyana visa depends on your nationality, purpose of travel and length of stay.
Important
Guyana operates a visa policy based on nationality and purpose. Citizens of CARICOM member states can generally stay visa-free for up to six months, and nationals of many other countries can visit visa-free for up to 90 days; shorter visa-free periods apply to some nationalities. Everyone else must obtain a visa before travel or a visa on arrival with prior approval.
Visa-free entry is for visits only. Anyone intending to work, study or run a business needs the appropriate visa — Employment, Student or Business — regardless of nationality. All travellers must hold a passport valid for at least six months with blank pages available.
Check before you travel
- Confirm your nationality against the current Ministry of Foreign Affairs visa-exempt list
- Match the visa to your purpose: visit, work, study or business
- Ensure your passport has at least six months' validity
