Who it is for

  • Foreign nationals employed by NGOs registered and authorised to operate in Ethiopia

Requirements

  • A passport valid for at least six months
  • Two recent passport photographs
  • An employment contract or appointment letter from the NGO
  • Documentation of the NGO's registration and authorisation to operate in Ethiopia
  • A police clearance certificate from the home country
  • Evidence of relevant qualifications and experience
  • A completed work permit application form and payment of the applicable fee

How to apply

Applications are submitted online through the official ICS website or in person at immigration offices; applicants outside Ethiopia may apply through the nearest Ethiopian Embassy or Consulate. The permit is valid for the duration of the employment contract.
