How to apply for an Ethiopian visa
The main ways to apply for an Ethiopian visa or permit — online through the government e-Visa portal, through the Immigration and Citizenship Service, or at an Ethiopian diplomatic mission.

Most short-stay visitors apply online through the official Ethiopian e-Visa portal at evisa.gov.et. You choose the visa type and duration, complete the application form, upload a scan of your passport bio-data page and a photograph, pay the fee by card, and receive the approved visa by email. Travellers entering on an eVisa arrive through Addis Ababa Bole International Airport.
Work, study, family and residence matters are handled by the Ethiopian Immigration and Citizenship Service (ICS). These applications can be made online through the ICS website or in person at an immigration office, and applicants outside Ethiopia can apply through the nearest Ethiopian Embassy or Consulate.
