El Salvador does not publish a single consolidated processing-time table; each DGME form states the timeframe (plazo) for that specific procedure alongside its requirements and fees. PEI (online permit) decisions are notified by email after review, and may be approved, conditionally approved, denied or cancelled.

For residence categories, timeframes depend on the completeness of your documents and any inter-ministerial input (for example MTPS for work authorisation). Because these are set per procedure, always read the timeframe on the specific DGME form for your category.
