Who it is for

  • Foreigners with a job offer from an employer based in Chile
  • People coming to work under a subordinate or dependent (employee) relationship

Requirements

  • Valid passport (at least one year's validity for applications from abroad)
  • Employment contract compliant with labour law, notarised, stating tasks and pay
  • Criminal-record certificate for applicants aged 18 and over
  • Recent colour photo with a white background
  • A certificate of contract validity if the contract was signed more than three months earlier

What you can do

  • Live and work in Chile for the authorised employer
  • Hold the permit for up to two years and extend it for two more
  • Progress towards permanent residence once you meet the qualifying period

How to apply

  • Apply through SERMIG's digital procedures portal, as a rule from outside Chile
  • Log in with ClaveÚnica or an account you create and complete the work subcategory
  • Present your employment contract within 45 days of entering Chile
