Documents you need for a Chilean application
Most residence applications require a valid passport, a criminal-record certificate, a compliant photo and category-specific supporting documents.

Across SERMIG residence categories, common documents include a valid passport (for applications made abroad it must generally be valid for at least one year from the application date), a recent colour photograph with a white background and neutral expression, and, for applicants aged 18 and over, a criminal-record certificate from the country of origin or of residence over the last five years.
Category-specific documents are then added: for work, a notarised employment contract; for study, a regular-student or enrolment certificate; for investment, an INVESTCHILE sponsorship letter and investment details; for family or dependant routes, marriage and birth certificates proving the relationship. Documents issued abroad must usually be apostilled or legalised.
For permanent residence and citizenship you also provide your Chilean foreigner ID card, proof of your current status, and, for naturalisation, tax-compliance certificates.
