The Commissariat Général des Migrations processes visa applications submitted through its online portal and issues entry visas on arrival at Bujumbura International Airport. Official processing-time figures are not published on the portal, so applicants should apply well ahead of travel.
In-country extensions and regularisations are handled by the PAFE and require an in-person visit, which can add time; plan renewals before the current visa expires.
