Burundi visa fees are set by the Commissariat Général des Migrations and vary by visa type and validity. Regional (EAC/CEPGL) access visas and courtesy/diplomatic visas are free, while entry, establishment and permanent-resident visas carry set fees.

Fees are generally quoted in US dollars (with euro equivalents for some visas), while travel documents such as the safe conduct are charged in Burundian francs.

Published fees

  • Transit visa: 40 USD (3 days, single entry)
  • Multiple-entry visa: 90 USD (1 month), 180 USD (2 months), 270 USD (3 months)
  • Stay visa: tiered from 10 USD per 5 days
  • Establishment visa: 500 USD (ordinary); courtesy/diplomatic free
  • Permanent-resident visa: 1,200 USD
  • Study visa: free (EAC) / 25 USD (DRC)
  • EAC and CEPGL access visas: free
  • Safe conduct / travel document: 5,000 FBU
