Important

This information is for general guidance only. Meeting the requirements does not guarantee your application will be approved.

Most Botswana visa applications share a common core of documents: a certified copy of the passport bio-data pages (pages 1-2) valid for at least six months, two recent colour passport photographs, and a covering letter explaining the purpose of the visit.

Depending on the route you will also need a flight itinerary and proof of accommodation or a residential address in Botswana, a re-entry permit for your country of residence where required, and route-specific evidence such as an institution acceptance letter (study), an employment contract and Department of Labour waiver (employment), business incorporation and bank statements (business/investment), or a host affidavit and ID copy (visitor).

For online applications through the eVisa portal, all supporting documents are usually combined into a single PDF, and documents not in English should be translated.
