How nationality and purpose determine whether you need a Bahrain visa and which route applies.

Eligibility for Bahrain visas is driven first by nationality. GCC citizens enjoy visa-free entry, a defined list of nationalities can obtain a visa on arrival, and a broader list is eligible to apply online for an eVisa. The official eVisa portal publishes separate eligibility lists for online and on-arrival visas, and these should be checked for your specific passport.

For residence routes, eligibility depends on meeting the conditions of the route: a job offer and sponsoring employer for work permits, enrolment for student permits, a qualifying sponsor and salary for dependants, or the category thresholds for Golden Residency. Nationality alone does not qualify you for these — the underlying conditions must be met.
