Important

This information is for general guidance only. Meeting the requirements does not guarantee your application will be approved.

How you apply for Azerbaijan depends on what you need. Short-stay visitors of eligible nationalities usually apply online through the ASAN Visa e-Visa portal, while some travellers use visa-on-arrival kiosks at international airports and others enter visa-free. Longer visas such as work or study routes normally involve an entry visa from an Azerbaijani diplomatic mission followed by a residence permit inside the country.

Residence permits (temporary and permanent) and related migration services are handled by the State Migration Service, in person at ASAN service centres, at regional migration departments, or through the electronic services on the migration portal. Applications to extend a temporary residence permit or work permit should generally be made at least 30 days before expiry.
