Azerbaijan operates a mix of visa-free entry, electronic visas (ASAN Visa), visa on arrival and consular visas. Some nationalities can enter visa-free for short stays; many others must obtain an ASAN e-Visa online; and those coming for work, study, family or investment need the appropriate entry visa and, for longer stays, a residence permit.

Eligibility for each route is set out in the Migration Code and government rules. Because lists of eligible countries and the conditions for each route change, travellers should always confirm their own situation against the official portals before booking travel.
