Registration of Place of Stay

Foreigners staying beyond a short threshold must register their place of stay with the State Migration Service.

Foreigners and stateless persons who stay in Azerbaijan for more than 15 days must register their place of stay with the State Migration Service (for citizens of Kazakhstan the threshold is reported as 30 days). Registration can be completed through the electronic services of the migration portal, by email, or in person at regional migration departments or ASAN service centres.

If a foreigner changes their place of stay, they must register the new address within five working days. There is no state fee for registration of place of stay. Failing to register can lead to penalties, so it is an important step for anyone staying beyond the threshold.
