Who it is for

  • Foreign nationals visiting Argentina for rest, leisure or tourism
  • Visa-free for MERCOSUR and associated-state citizens and other exempt nationalities
  • Visa-free for holders of a valid US visa or green card
  • A consular tourist visa is required for nationals of non-exempt countries

Requirements

  • Passport valid for at least 6 months from entry, with at least one blank page (or an accepted ID document for certain South American nationals)
  • For a consular visa: completed application form, two 4x4 cm colour photos on white background
  • For a consular visa: proof of economic solvency, round-trip travel reservation and accommodation booking or letter of invitation
  • For a consular visa: payment of the consular fee and attendance at a consular interview

What you can do

  • Stay for tourism/leisure for up to 90 days
  • Request one extension of stay from Migraciones before the permit expires
  • You may not work in a dependent employment relationship on tourist status

How to apply

  • Exempt nationalities: no advance application; present your passport and supporting documents at the border
  • Non-exempt nationalities: book an interview at the Argentine consulate with jurisdiction over your residence, attend with the required documents, and collect the visa
