What to expect on timing, and why official processing times should be confirmed with the Servei d'Immigració.

Processing time depends on the route, on whether the annual immigration quota still has places, and on how complete and correctly legalised the documents are. Work permits also depend on the employer completing their part of the process and, for quota-limited categories, on availability within the year's allocation.

The Government does not publish a single fixed processing time that applies to all authorisations. Applicants are advised to lodge complete applications and to allow time for document legalisation, the medical examination and CASS or AFA steps.
