Important

This information is for general guidance only. Meeting the requirements does not guarantee your application will be approved.

The steps below are the general shape of a Türkiye visa process. Your exact route depends on your nationality, the purpose of your visit and your circumstances, so always confirm against the official Ministry of Foreign Affairs and e-Visa pages linked on this page.

Check whether you need a visa

Nationals of some countries are exempt from a visa for touristic or business visits. Start with the official Ministry of Foreign Affairs guidance to find out whether you need a visa for your nationality and purpose.

Apply online for an e-Visa

If you are eligible and travelling for tourism or business, the e-Visa is obtained online through the official portal at evisa.gov.tr. Use only the official portal — third-party sites are not the government service.

Use the sticker or consular route where needed

Travellers not eligible for the e-Visa can apply through the official visa portal at visa.gov.tr. Purposes the e-Visa does not cover — such as work or study — are handled by Turkish Representations (embassies and consulates) abroad.

Prepare your documents

Prepare the documents the official application asks for. The exact list depends on the visa and your situation — follow the checklist on the official Ministry of Foreign Affairs and e-Visa pages.
