How to Apply for a Tajikistan Visa
An overview of how to apply for a Tajik visa, centred on the government's online e-visa portal.
Important
Most visitors to Tajikistan apply through the official electronic visa portal at evisa.tj, which is operated under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The portal lets eligible nationalities complete the whole application online, upload documents, pay the fee and receive the visa by email to print before travel.
Some categories and nationalities are handled instead through Tajik embassies and consulates, and longer-term routes such as work or residence involve additional permits from the migration authorities. Nationals of visa-free countries do not need to apply at all for short visits.

- Check whether your nationality is eligible for the e-visa or is visa-free
- Complete the online form at evisa.tj and add a GBAO permit if needed
- Upload your photo and passport page and pay online
- Print the approved e-visa and carry it with your passport
