Documents for a Panama Visa or Residence Application
Common documents include a valid passport, apostilled criminal-record certificate, health certificate, category-specific evidence, and a notarised power of attorney for the lawyer.
Important
Although each category has its own checklist, most Panama residence applications share a common core of documents. Foreign-issued documents such as criminal-record and civil-status certificates must generally be apostilled or authenticated by a Panamanian consulate.
Category-specific evidence is then added on top - for example a job offer and MITRADEL registration for work, a pension-certification letter for the Pensionado visa, proof of investment and lawful source of funds for investor visas, or enrolment proof for a student visa.
Common core documents
- Valid passport (and often a second photo ID)
- National criminal-record certificate, apostilled/authenticated
- Health / medical certificate where required
- Passport photos and completed SNM forms
- Notarised power of attorney for the Panamanian lawyer
- Category-specific evidence (job offer, pension letter, investment proof, enrolment, etc.)
