Eligibility for a Libya visa depends on your nationality, the purpose of your visit and whether you have a qualifying sponsor. Only a very small number of nationalities may enter without a visa; most travellers need a visa arranged in advance.

Certain nationalities face additional restrictions or limited entry points, and entry is refused to anyone whose passport contains Israeli entry stamps. Each visa category — tourist, business, work, study, family, transit or residence — has its own sponsorship and documentary conditions.
