Border Crossings and Where Visas Are Issued
Which Jordanian ports of entry issue visas on arrival, and the important King Hussein Bridge exception.
Important
Jordan can be entered by air at Queen Alia International Airport (Amman) and Aqaba, and by several land and sea crossings. Visa on arrival is available for eligible nationalities at most of these ports.
The key exception is the King Hussein Bridge (Allenby) crossing from the West Bank, where visas are not issued on arrival. Travellers using that crossing must obtain a visa in advance from a Jordanian mission — a valid Jordan Pass or pre-issued visa is needed to enter there.
Key points
- Visa on arrival available at Queen Alia International Airport and most crossings
- No visa on arrival at the King Hussein Bridge (Allenby) crossing
- Arrange a visa in advance if entering via King Hussein Bridge
- Passport must be valid for at least six months
