Important

This information is for general guidance only. Meeting the requirements does not guarantee your application will be approved.

For consulted visas (Category C nationalities), the IGM's regulation provides that a decision is issued within no more than 30 days once all requirements are met. Consular (Category B) visas depend on the processing time of the individual Guatemalan mission.

Residence applications (temporary and permanent) are processed by the IGM's Subdirección de Extranjería and timelines vary with the category and completeness of the file. Always allow additional time for document legalisation and apostille before applying.
